I guess most of you don’t know this yet, but apart from the daily blog posts there’s a lot of other stuff available here:
- For example, it’s not strictly a “database” in the IT sense of the word, but we have what you could call a “repository” of thousands of human rights statistics collected from all over the internet. Those statistics are presented on different webpages, one for each major topic. For example, there’s a page called “statistics on capital punishment“, and so on.
- Then there’s a “human rights tools” page with links to the main treaties and covenants, to human rights blogs, to the websites of the main human rights institutions and to a number of resources.
- I’m particularly proud of my “mindmaps“: those are drawings which offer links to different posts about a certain topic and which are organized according to a logical structure and hierarchy. They’re the perfect way to read posts about a topic. At the moment, there are 15 mindmaps available. If you would like to have a mindmap for a particular topic that you follow on this blog, let me know. By the way, and for those who already use these mindmaps: I’ve done a major update recently so a new visit is definitely worthwhile. Here’s an example (click on it to access it):
- And finally, there’s a huge collection of evocative human rights images featured on this blog:
If all this is enough to convince you that this corner of the internet is a great place to hang out, then maybe you’re willing to make a small donation to keep the thing going. Any amount is good:
